Installing Desktop Web Proxy for Mac OS

DWPMac is a Mac version of Desktop Web Proxy. Most of its features and usages are as same as DWP for Windows.

Requirements

You must have an admin account on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

From the About This Mac, check the OS version; if the version is lower than OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, update the OS to the latest.

Installation

• Download the DwpMac.xxx.dmg file.
• Double-click the DwpMac.xxx.dmg file.
  A virtual drive mounts on the machine, and a window opens on that drive.
• In the window, right-click the DwpMac.xxx.pkg file, and select Open.
• When the system prompts you to confirm that you want to open the file, select Open.
• Follow the instruction to install DwpMac.
  Once DwpMac is successfully installed, it automatically starts, and a UI icon displays in the upper-right corner of the screen.
• Click the UI icon.
  A menu displays. This menu is used in the same way as DWP Windows.

Uninstall

In the in the dmg file, launch Uninstall.pkg.

Location

DwpMac is installed in the following directory:
\Users\Shared\DwpMac

Commands

Open a terminal in \Users\Shared\DwpMac, where the following commands are available:

• sudo ./dwpstop (stop DwpMac)
• sudo ./dwpstart (start DwpMac)
• sudo ./dwpuninstall (uninstall DwpMac)sudo ./DwpMacLatencyTest (do latency test)
• Alternatively, double clicking on the command will also work.

Note: DwpMac must be stopped before running the LatencyTest on Mac, which is why the LatencyTest is launched from command line.

Log Files

Log files are located in the following directory:
\Users\Shared\DwpMac\Log

To access log files:

• Right click on the folder.
• Select Compress.
  The system creates a zip file. When troubleshooting is needed, developer may need to read this file.

User Settings

The user settings are stored in the following directory:
\Users\Shared\DwpMac\Settings.

This directory is equivalent to the Dwp registry in Windows. Do not modify the files in this directory.
