Configuring Proxy Settings for Internet Applications

After configuring the Desktop Web Proxy (DWP) connections, configure the proxy for Internet applications. You can use the Apply Proxy Setting options in either of the following ways:

• Using DWP
• Using a browser

To configure proxy settings using DWP:

• Right-click the DWP tray icon and select Apply Proxy Setting.
• In the pop-up submenu, select Internet Explorer or Firefox.


A message displays indicating that the options are set for the browser to connect to DWP.

To configure proxy settings using your browser:

• Open your browser and access its proxy settings option.
• Set the host name to localhost and the port to 3128.
  The following example is for Internet Explorer:

• To allow access to company intranet sites:
  • In Internet Explorer, select the Bypass proxy server for local addresses checkbox.
  • In Firefox, in the No Proxy For field, specify local addresses separated by commas.
